CHENEGA BAY -- A Chenega Bay woman died after she lost control of a vehicle, crashed and was ejected, Alaska State Troopers said.

Lynette Selanoff, 32, died after the crash on Chenega Bay Airstrip around 11:40 p.m. Wednesday, troopers said this week.

Troopers said Selanoff was driving a 1999 Ford Expedition north on the airstrip when she veered off the runway. The vehicle rolled several times and Selanoff, who was not wearing a seat belt, was thrown out. She died at the scene.

A passenger, Kodiak resident Kenneth Michener, 25, suffered minor head injuries and was treated and released.

Alcohol was a factor in the crash, troopers said.
